Department of Nursing UNDIP Strengthens Global Networking with the Kulliyyah of Nursing IIUM Malaysia

Kuantan, Malaysia – The Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), continues to expand its international academic network through strategic collaborations with overseas higher education institutions. One of these initiatives was implemented through an academic visit and mentoring program for the Student Go International Program, held at the Kulliyyah of Nursing, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Kuantan Campus, from May 11–22, 2026.

During the program, a lecturer from the UNDIP Department of Nursing, Marsha Yoke Nancy, S.Kep., Ns., M.N.Sc., accompanied five student exchange participants and engaged in various academic activities to strengthen institutional relations between the UNDIP Faculty of Nursing and the Kulliyyah of Nursing IIUM.

In addition to mentoring students in academic activities, the UNDIP lecturer participated in discussions and exchanges of ideas with IIUM leaders and faculty members regarding the development of nursing education. Topics discussed included the development of globally competency-based curricula, innovative teaching methods, the implementation of evidence-based nursing practice, and opportunities for collaborative research and joint scientific publications.

This activity provided important momentum in strengthening the international collaboration established between the two institutions. Through various academic meetings held during the program, both parties explored broader opportunities for collaboration, including student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research, joint academic activities, and human resource capacity development in nursing.

Throughout the program, students also participated in various academic and cultural activities, such as lectures, scientific discussions, learning observations, and cultural exchange activities with the IIUM academic community. These experiences provided students with opportunities to understand educational and healthcare practices in an international context while also developing cross-cultural communication skills.

According to Ners Marsha, this program not only provided valuable experiences for students but also opened opportunities to strengthen academic networks and improve educational quality through sustainable international collaboration.

This program aligns with the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, UNDIP’s commitment to support Universitas Diponegoro’s internationalization agenda by enhancing global partnerships, developing internationally recognized education, and strengthening academic reputation at both regional and global levels.

Moving forward, the outcomes of this program are expected to be followed up through broader and more sustainable collaborative initiatives, contributing significantly to the advancement of nursing science, the improvement of educational quality, and the strengthening of UNDIP Nursing’s position within the international academic network.
